These are some questions we come across quite often. If you are unable to find an answer to your query here, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

How long are your custom cake quotes valid for? And what is the deposit required?
Each of our custom cake quotes are valid for 14 days. We require a 50% deposit to secure your cake order. Final payment is required 4 weeks before pick up via bank transfer. However if your order is a month or less away, I require full payment too secure your order.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your cake order, please let us know as soon as possible. If your order is cancelled two weeks prior of the agreed pick-up/delivery date, then the full refund will be returned. If you cancel within one week, 25% of the deposit will be forfeited (except under special circumstances which will be determined on a case-by-case basis). For cancellations 3 days prior, a 50% deposit will be forfeited as planning, purchasing, and some baking would have already begun.

What is the difference between a day and custom cake?
Basically with custom cakes, I work with you to create a unique celebration cake that can be adorned with macarons, meringues, shards, blooms etc to fit your occasion. A day cake is a standard cake designed by me and no changes can be made or customised. 

Do you deliver cakes upon request?
Yes, we do deliver cakes! Please contact us in regards to your delivery requirements and we will always aim to accommodate.

Do you make gluten/dairy/nut-free/vegan cakes
Currently we don’t make desserts that are gluten, dairy, vegan or nut-free; nor is our kitchen a nut-free zone. If you (or your guests) have a specific allergy or intolerance, please let us know upon ordering your cake.

How should I store and travel with my cake?
You will be provided with a non-slip mat under your cake board to help with the transport of your cake. Always travel with your cake on a flat surface, and you will need to make sure your car is well air-conditioned. The Little Cake Maker takes no responsibility for any desserts that are damaged once they leave the premises. When it comes to storage, please store your dessert in the fridge but remember that it will be best served at room temperature.

How far in advance should I place my order?
As soon as possible! I bake all desserts by hand and they are all custom made; therefore, places are limited. If you send me your dessert order as soon as possible, I can add it to my in my calendar.

Do I need to pay deposit for day cakes, cupcakes, tarts and slices?
Short answer no. You can pay in full 4 weeks before collection but if your total is more than $150, we would require a 50% deposit prior to confirmation. Full payment is required to secure order if your order is a month or less away at the time of enquiry.
